As you all know, I have recently tried to look how Flex RIA was a year ago through the Wayback machine. While it was not possible for me to read each and every post made over the year, here are some I found interesting among the popular ones in each month.

Jan, 2008: It was a time when desktop sites were cropping up all around. This nice review of myGoya also cites other similar websites.

Feb, 2008: Charles looked at the contributions of early RIAs to UI design and tested blist when it was still on private beta and liked it. That a Flex startup got $6.5M funding at that time makes it all the more interesting.

Mar, 2008: While Silverlight 2.0 Beta wasn’t so good, it became clear that Microsoft is serious about Silverlight. Moxie declared GeoWeb as completely born.

Apr, 2008: Charles listed the items that Adobe has to work on after releasing its Mobile Gallery and felt that Babbel had the best RIA architecture ever.

May, 2008: In this good month for GeoWeb, Moxie reviewed the Google Earth plugin for Browser and how Google Maps API for Flash helps earthquake relief efforts.

Jun, 2008: I liked the Flex site Grooveshark Lite and the AIR app Snackr very much, both of which I continue to use occasionally. Then, there is this list of 10 Flex frameworks and debugging tools.

Jul, 2008: Charles checked the trends of various RIAs and I looked at an e-commerce site using Flex both of which had valuable inputs from the community.

Aug, 2008: While I looked at ways to track Olympics real-time, Charles came up with two lists of 10 items each: 10 Free Vector Digital Maps for GeoWeb RIA and 10 Amazing Javascript Image Libraries.

Sep, 2008: Google entered the browser wars with Chrome and then released Android to fight Apple iPhone. BTW, I don’t love Chrome anymore and rarely use it. What about you?

Oct, 2008: Silverlight seemed to pin its hopes on the openness of Android rather than iPhone for a share in Mobile RIA. And SlideRocket, with its rich Flex site and AIR app today is contesting for the Crunchies 2008.

Nov, 2008: After Charles found Zk smarter than JavaFX, it ignited some good discussion which resulted in him wondering whether JavaFX Desktop can save Java.

Dec, 2008: December is still fresh in our minds. So I spare you these links. :)
